# Changelog

Every change that reached the product, grouped by the day it shipped. Newest first.

## 25 October 2026

- changedThe terms now describe five things as they work: when an account can be deleted, who sees the cancel link, that the daily limits apply to every plan, who your content is shared with, and what is released.
- changedEveryone was signed out once on 25 October, because the key that signs sign-in sessions was replaced. Signing in again is all it takes: accounts, workspaces and demos are unchanged.
- changedA link to stop referral updates in an email sent before 25 October no longer works. While signed in, the same switch is at /refer/updates.

## 24 October 2026

- addedThere is a new comparison with Navattic at /compare/navattic, with its plans and the date its prices were checked.
- changedThe Loom comparison now shows Loom’s free plan as capped at 10 users, as its pricing page says today.

## 23 October 2026

- changedThe support page, the contact form, Settings and the pricing FAQ now say plainly that a person replies within 1 business day, and that Pro workspaces get priority support.

## 22 October 2026

- addedDemofy now has an MCP server. Give Claude Code, Codex or another MCP client an API key from Settings → API keys and it can make, check, edit and delete demos as your account, asking you first before any call that cannot be undone. The setup commands are in the docs and in “Onboard your agent to Demofy”.
- addedA script or an AI agent can now ship an edit of a finished demo: POST /api/jobs/:id/edit does what the step editor’s Render button does, and answers with the new job.
- addedThere is a new comparison with Demoboost at /compare/demoboost, with its plans and the date its prices were checked.
- addedThere is a new comparison with Tella at /compare/tella, and an alternatives page at /alternatives that groups every tool Demofy is compared with by what it is for. The comparison pages, and that page, are also available as plain markdown by adding .md to their address.
- addedThe API now has a machine-readable description at /openapi.json, with a catalog entry at /.well-known/api-catalog, covering five operations: create a demo, list demos, read one, cancel one, and list voices. The rest is in the API documentation.

## 21 October 2026

- addedA script or an AI agent can now stop a demo it started: POST /api/jobs/:id/cancel does what the Cancel button on the demo page does, including for a demo paused for a sign-in.
- fixedA demo of a one-time approval on another site, such as an OAuth consent or a domain-connect "Approve", no longer presses it while the demo is being planned. The recording presses it once, on film, so the video shows the approval instead of only what came after it.
- fixedAfter that approval, the demo now stays on the page it lands on until the page shows how it ended — "Domain connected" instead of "not found yet" — rather than ending a few seconds in while the page is still checking.

## 20 October 2026

- addedYou can now create API keys in Settings → API keys. A script or an AI agent that sends one acts as your account, in the workspace you made the key in, with your plan and your daily allowance, instead of as a guest. A key is shown once, reaches only the demo, saved-session and voice parts of the API, and can be revoked from the same list.

## 18 October 2026

- changedThe comparison pages show every rival’s prices as read from their own pricing pages on 18 October. Two things moved: InstaDemo now sells an Agency plan, and Synthesia prices its plans in credits, with its Creator plan now called Pro and its languages given as 140 and more.
- changedThe other Devino apps suggested on the apps page, and in the small card that sometimes suggests one, are now picked from Devino’s full published list of apps and use their current descriptions. Before, they came from a short list of seven, so the three you see there can be different apps than last week.
- addedThe welcome, first-video, trial and cancellation emails now end with the postal address of Devino Solutions Inc, the company behind Demofy, so you can see who wrote to you.
- addedIf you signed up with an email and password, you can now reset a forgotten password from the sign-in page. The link arrives by email, works once for an hour, and signs you out of every device when you choose a new password.
- fixedThe privacy page now matches what the product does. It names the AI gateway and the model that plans a demo instead of an old provider, and it covers browser sessions you attach to a demo, importing from Google Drive, the Refine button, what an invitation keeps, and what the creation record and the record of sent emails hold after an account is deleted. It is also exact about what the AI model sees as the name of a field that already holds a value, what the camera file saved with a demo contains, which IP addresses are discarded rather than counted (a visitor’s VPN is not one of them), and when an attached browser session is deleted if a demo fails.

## 15 October 2026

- fixedThe analytics question is asked once. Whether you accepted or declined on demofy.io, app.demofy.io no longer asks again, and changing your answer on either one changes it on both.

## 11 October 2026

- addedThe Demofy Firefox add-on is on Firefox Add-ons. It is the same single toolbar button as on Chrome and Edge, and it opens the create page with the current page’s address already filled in. The apps page at demofy.io/apps now has an Add to Firefox link.

## 8 October 2026

- addedThe Demofy Edge extension is on Microsoft Edge Add-ons. It is the same single toolbar button as on Chrome, and it opens the create page with the current page’s address already filled in. The apps page at demofy.io/apps now has an Add to Edge link. Firefox is not listed yet.
- addedVersion 1.4.0 of the Chrome extension is on the Chrome Web Store. When you install it, a welcome page opens showing how to pin the Demofy button and what it does on any page. It still asks for no new permission.
- addedIf you remove the extension, a goodbye page opens with a short optional form asking why. It is recorded only if that browser accepted analytics cookies; otherwise the page gives an email address to write to instead.
- changedThe privacy policy now describes the extension’s welcome and goodbye pages and what the goodbye form records.
- changedThe privacy policy now says that when you create an account we save where you first arrived from on your account record. It goes to our analytics product only if you accepted analytics cookies.

## 5 October 2026

- addedThe Demofy Chrome extension is on the Chrome Web Store. It adds one toolbar button: press it on any page and the create page opens with that page’s address already filled in, ready for a line about what the demo should show. The apps page at demofy.io/apps now has an Add to Chrome link for it. Edge and Firefox listings are not up yet.
- changedWhen the create page is opened with an address already in the link, as the extension does, the cursor now starts in the box where you say what the demo should show, so you can start typing at once.
- fixedThe documentation, the FAQ, the machine-readable brief at /llms.txt and the agent setup guide no longer say the browser extension is unavailable. They point to its store page and say what it does.

## 4 October 2026

- addedTwo more comparison pages at demofy.io/compare, for MakeMyDemo and AIDemo.Video — two more tools that make a demo video from a URL. Each has its plan table, read from the vendor’s own pricing page and dated, and says plainly where the other tool is the better buy.
- addedThe create box now sits on every comparison page and on every use-case page, so you can paste a URL and make a demo without going back to the home page first.

## 3 October 2026

- addedA page at demofy.io/url-to-demo-video on turning a web address into a narrated demo video: how it works in three steps, which URLs it can film (any page that loads for a stranger, and signed-in apps through a saved session), where it falls short, and the questions people ask.
- addedThe create box now sits on that page, on the demo video generator page and on the how-to guide, so you can paste a URL and make a demo from the page you landed on instead of going back to the home page first.
- changedThe “Make a demo” button in the top bar now jumps to the create box on every public page that has one, and opens the create page on the rest.

## 1 October 2026

- addedA comparison page for Synthesia at demofy.io/compare/synthesia: an AI-avatar video made from a script, beside a video filmed from your live product. Both plan tables are read from Synthesia’s own pricing page, and the page says when Synthesia is the better choice.

## 27 September 2026

- addedTwo new comparison pages at demofy.io/compare, for Demosmith and InstaDemo — the two tools that, like Demofy, make a narrated demo video from a URL. Each has both plan tables, read from the vendor’s own pricing page, and says plainly where the other tool wins.
- addedNew pages at demofy.io/use-cases on five jobs a product demo video does: onboarding new users, release notes, sales demos, help-center how-tos and the video on a landing page. Each one links every claim to the documentation page that explains it, and ends by saying where Demofy falls short for that job.
- addedA step-by-step guide at demofy.io/how-to-make-a-product-demo-video: choosing one viewer and one task, writing the steps before you record, recording the real product, finishing it with zooms, a cursor, a voice and captions, publishing it, and keeping it current when the product changes. It teaches the method by hand, and shows where making the video from a URL fits beside it.
- addedOn a phone, the bar at the top of the public pages now has a Menu button holding How it works, Docs and Sign in. Those links were hidden at that width, so the documentation could only be reached from the footer.
- fixedOn a phone, the cookie question on the comparison pages, the documentation and the demo video generator page now sits at the bottom of the screen instead of over the page’s heading, and the end of each page leaves room so its last links can still be pressed.
- fixedThe “How it works” link in the top bar now takes you to that part of the home page from every page. On pricing, the documentation, the comparison pages and the changelog it used to do nothing.

## 25 September 2026

- changedEvery price on the comparison pages was read again from each vendor’s own pricing page, and each page shows the new date. Screen Studio’s monthly price and Supademo’s new Business plan are in, and the lines those changes made untrue were rewritten.
- fixedThe home page and the documentation now say a finished video is 60 frames a second rather than that the screen is recorded at that rate, and that a re-render films the stored plan again rather than reusing old footage. The documentation no longer lists transcript files a finished demo does not keep; the transcript is the job page’s Script tab.

## 23 September 2026

- changedThe browser tab for the pricing page used to just say “Pricing”. It now says what the page is about.

## 22 September 2026

- addedPrices are shown in your own currency. Pro is sold in US, Canadian and Australian dollars, euros, pounds, Brazilian reais, Mexican and Philippine pesos and Japanese yen, and the pricing page, the plan page and the checkout quote you in yours where they can tell which it is. Where your currency is not one of those, prices are shown in US dollars and the page says so.
- changedA dollar price now says which dollar it is, written US$, CA$, A$ or MX$, because a bare “$” means four different currencies on a site that sells in all four.
- addedThere’s a new page at demofy.io/apps listing every way to put Demofy on your device — installing it as an app is ready today, and a browser toolbar button is coming, with three real reasons for each one rather than a row of badges.
- addedAfter you’ve made something, the studio can now offer to install Demofy as an app on your computer, or show the three steps to add it from Safari’s share button on an iPhone.
- addedThe studio can also point you at one of our other apps, when it’s a genuine fit for what you’re working on.
- addedA button called “Onboard your agent to Demofy” now sits on the documentation page, the landing page and Settings. It copies one sentence you can paste into Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenCode, which fetches Demofy’s own setup instructions and follows them itself — there is no MCP server, no SDK and no API key to configure yet, so it points your agent at the web app.
- addedA frequently-asked-questions page now lives at /docs/faq, pulled together from the pricing page and the troubleshooting guide. The shorter address /faq takes you there too.

## 18 September 2026

- addedSettings has a switch called “Show tips and prompts”. It is on for everyone and free on every plan, and turning it off silences every card Demofy can put in the corner of the screen. The cookie bar is the one thing it does not cover, because we are obliged to ask that question; the cookies page is where that answer changes.
- changedOnly one card can appear at a time now, and never two in the same visit. Closing one puts it away for a while, and closing the same one three times stops it for good.
- fixedThe “save your videos” card for guests used to come back every two minutes for as long as the tab stayed open, even after it had been closed. It now appears once a visit at most, and closing it is taken as an answer.

## 11 September 2026

- fixedClosing or declining a cloud drive’s sign-in window now says the sign-in was cancelled. It used to say the window had been blocked by the browser, which sent people into their browser settings over a choice they had just made themselves.
- changedThe terms and privacy pages now name the company behind Demofy and its registered address, instead of the placeholder that stood there while the company was being registered. The terms page also says which law governs it and where a dispute would be heard, and says plainly that this does not take away a right the law where you live gives you.

## 10 September 2026

- changedThe content policy every page ships with is now enforced rather than only reported, so a browser blocks anything Demofy did not ask for instead of letting it load.

## 7 September 2026

- addedDownload a copy of your data from account settings — one JSON file with your account, your workspaces, your videos and your media library, and a short-lived link to every file. It is assembled from exactly the records the delete controls act on, and it says what it leaves out and why.
- changedA subscription now shows the workspace’s name and its owner’s address in our billing provider, instead of an id nobody can read — so a receipt, a renewal notice and a support conversation all reach the right person. The privacy policy lists everything that provider receives.
- changedProduct analytics can now tell one signed-in account from another, using the same opaque id everything else here uses. Your email address and your name are still never sent to it, and none of it happens unless you accept analytics cookies.

## 5 September 2026

- addedA public changelog, at this page.
- addedComparison pages, at demofy.io/compare — Demofy beside Arcade, Storylane, Supademo, Walnut, Guidde, Clueso, Trupeer, Loom and Screen Studio. Every competitor price was read from that vendor’s own pricing page, and each page shows the date it was read and says where the other tool is the better buy.
- addedA privacy policy, terms of service, and a page listing every cookie and browser key the site sets.
- addedA consent bar for analytics cookies. Nothing measures anything until you accept, and refusing takes one click.
- addedA switch on the cookies page that turns analytics back on, or back off, in one click. It takes effect on the page you are already reading — no reload, and no clearing your site data.
- changedEvery public page now has its own social card, so a link to a documentation page unfurls with that page’s title.

## 4 September 2026

- addedDocumentation, at demofy.io/docs — two dozen pages covering every knob, every limit, and the things Demofy deliberately does not do.
- addedThe job page now shows where the browser got to, frame by frame, while a demo is being explored.
- addedYou can add a video you already have, picked from your machine or from a connected cloud drive.
- addedA workspace can let Demofy through its own edge protection, so a site behind a bot filter can still be filmed.
- addedPro’s monthly plan now offers a trial. It asks for a card, and every page that mentions it now says so in one shared sentence.
- addedFour line drawings on the marketing pages, each explaining one mechanism rather than decorating a band.
- changedEvery response now carries security headers, and a mistyped URL gets a real 404 page instead of the framework’s.
- changedErrors are reported to our error tracker with an id you can quote, and no address, URL or prompt ever rides along.
- changedThe production database is backed up nightly, and the restore has been run end to end rather than assumed.
- fixedA demo could end one keystroke short of the thing it was filming. It types the whole phrase now.
- fixedA logo upload no longer opens an image editor that fetched its text from two third-party hosts.
- fixedThe explorer no longer abandons a step it failed to read the first time; it asks again.
