Changelog
Every change that reached the product, grouped by the day it shipped. Newest first.
- addedPrices are shown in your own currency. Pro is sold in US, Canadian and Australian dollars, euros, pounds, Brazilian reais, Mexican and Philippine pesos and Japanese yen, and the pricing page, the plan page and the checkout quote you in yours where they can tell which it is. Where your currency is not one of those, prices are shown in US dollars and the page says so.
- changedA dollar price now says which dollar it is, written US$, CA$, A$ or MX$, because a bare “$” means four different currencies on a site that sells in all four.
- addedSettings has a switch called “Show tips and prompts”. It is on for everyone and free on every plan, and turning it off silences every card Demofy can put in the corner of the screen. The cookie bar is the one thing it does not cover, because we are obliged to ask that question; the cookies page is where that answer changes.
- changedOnly one card can appear at a time now, and never two in the same visit. Closing one puts it away for a while, and closing the same one three times stops it for good.
- fixedThe “save your videos” card for guests used to come back every two minutes for as long as the tab stayed open, even after it had been closed. It now appears once a visit at most, and closing it is taken as an answer.
- fixedClosing or declining a cloud drive’s sign-in window now says the sign-in was cancelled. It used to say the window had been blocked by the browser, which sent people into their browser settings over a choice they had just made themselves.
- changedThe terms and privacy pages now name the company behind Demofy and its registered address, instead of the placeholder that stood there while the company was being registered. The terms page also says which law governs it and where a dispute would be heard, and says plainly that this does not take away a right the law where you live gives you.
- changedThe content policy every page ships with is now enforced rather than only reported, so a browser blocks anything Demofy did not ask for instead of letting it load.
- addedDownload a copy of your data from account settings — one JSON file with your account, your workspaces, your videos and your media library, and a short-lived link to every file. It is assembled from exactly the records the delete controls act on, and it says what it leaves out and why.
- changedA subscription now shows the workspace’s name and its owner’s address in our billing provider, instead of an id nobody can read — so a receipt, a renewal notice and a support conversation all reach the right person. The privacy policy lists everything that provider receives.
- changedProduct analytics can now tell one signed-in account from another, using the same opaque id everything else here uses. Your email address and your name are still never sent to it, and none of it happens unless you accept analytics cookies.
- addedA public changelog, at this page.
- addedComparison pages, at demofy.io/compare — Demofy beside Arcade, Storylane, Supademo, Walnut, Guidde, Clueso, Trupeer, Loom and Screen Studio. Every competitor price was read from that vendor’s own pricing page, and each page shows the date it was read and says where the other tool is the better buy.
- addedA privacy policy, terms of service, and a page listing every cookie and browser key the site sets.
- addedA consent bar for analytics cookies. Nothing measures anything until you accept, and refusing takes one click.
- addedA switch on the cookies page that turns analytics back on, or back off, in one click. It takes effect on the page you are already reading — no reload, and no clearing your site data.
- changedEvery public page now has its own social card, so a link to a documentation page unfurls with that page’s title.
- addedDocumentation, at demofy.io/docs — two dozen pages covering every knob, every limit, and the things Demofy deliberately does not do.
- addedThe job page now shows where the browser got to, frame by frame, while a demo is being explored.
- addedYou can add a video you already have, picked from your machine or from a connected cloud drive.
- addedA workspace can let Demofy through its own edge protection, so a site behind a bot filter can still be filmed.
- addedPro’s monthly plan now offers a trial. It asks for a card, and every page that mentions it now says so in one shared sentence.
- addedFour line drawings on the marketing pages, each explaining one mechanism rather than decorating a band.
- changedEvery response now carries security headers, and a mistyped URL gets a real 404 page instead of the framework’s.
- changedErrors are reported to our error tracker with an id you can quote, and no address, URL or prompt ever rides along.
- changedThe production database is backed up nightly, and the restore has been run end to end rather than assumed.
- fixedA demo could end one keystroke short of the thing it was filming. It types the whole phrase now.
- fixedA logo upload no longer opens an image editor that fetched its text from two third-party hosts.
- fixedThe explorer no longer abandons a step it failed to read the first time; it asks again.
