Demofy vs Demosmith
Demosmith and Demofy both turn a URL and a sentence into a narrated demo video. Demosmith meters AI minutes; Demofy has a free plan. Where Demosmith wins.
What each one is
- Demosmith
- Demosmith is an AI demo agent: give it a product URL and a sentence, and one walkthrough comes back as a narrated video, a clickable interactive demo and matching documentation.
- Demofy
- Demofy takes the same two inputs and returns a narrated video with its captions, a transcript and a written guide, on a free plan rather than a trial.

What Demofy costs
Pro is US$29 a month, or US$290 a year — 2 months free. It is per workspace rather than per seat, so the fifth person on the team costs what the first one did. Everything below Pro is free, forever — a guest makes a finished 1920 × 1080 video with no account and no card, and it is a file you can download, share and embed. A free render closes on a small “Made with Demofy” card, which is one of the things Pro takes off. The full plan table is on the pricing page.
Where Demosmith is the better answer
- One walkthrough comes back as three things: the video, a clickable interactive demo, and documentation that exports as Markdown, HTML, plain text or PDF.
- Voiceover and captions in 31 languages on every paid plan, from a single run of the product.
- When a sign-in asks for a two-factor code mid-run, the agent pauses, asks you for it on the demo page and picks up where it stopped — the code is used once and never stored.
- Export up to 4K on the top plan, and custom limits or an on-premise deployment through sales.
Where Demofy is the better answer
- The free tier is a plan rather than a three-day trial: a guest makes a finished video with no account and no card, and an account goes on making them.
- Nothing is metered in AI minutes. The only bound is how many demos you start in a rolling day, and a job that fails does not count against it.
- A capture that dies on a moved element re-shoots itself once, and that replacement is not charged against the day’s allowance either.
- Every re-render, edit and re-shoot is kept as its own version beside the old one, and a link you already shared keeps playing the video you shared.
The part that does not flatter us
Demosmith hands back more per run than Demofy does — an interactive demo and documentation beside the video, narration in 31 languages, and a run that stops to ask for your two-factor code. If the video is one of several things you need from each walkthrough, Demosmith is the better buy.
Which to pick
These two are the closest pair on this site: both start from a URL and a sentence and return a narrated video. Choose Demosmith when every demo also has to become documentation and an interactive tour in several languages. Choose Demofy when you want a free plan to keep, no minutes to count, and every version kept.
Neither table settles it. Paste your own URL below and see what comes back — a guest needs no account and no card.
