Frequently asked questions

The questions people actually ask, answered once — accounts, pricing, cancelling, and why a demo sometimes fails.

This page answers the questions people actually ask — mined from the pricing page, the troubleshooting guide and support requests, not invented for this page.

Do I need an account to make a demo?

No. Paste a URL on the home page and Demofy makes the video — no sign-up screen, no card, nothing to install. A guest gets 3 demos a day; a free account gets 10, and everything you made as a guest moves with you when you sign up. See Guests, accounts and signing up.

What does the free plan actually give me?

A finished 1920 × 1080 demo you can download, share and embed — not a watermarked preview of one. The step editor, per-beat sound, projects, sharing and embedding are all free, forever. Free renders close on a small "Made with Demofy" card; that card is what Pro removes.

What does Pro add, and is it priced per seat?

High and Ultra capture, your own brand colour as the backdrop on every video, your own narration voice, and no "Made with Demofy" card. It is not priced per seat: Pro belongs to a workspace, so everyone in it renders at the same tier for one price — US$29 a month or US$290 a year (2 months free). Adding a teammate does not add a bill. See Pro, and what a lapse takes.

Is there a free trial?

Sometimes, on the monthly plan only, for anyone who has not subscribed before — see Pricing for the current length and terms, since a trial length stated twice is a trial length that can go stale here without the pricing page noticing. The free tiers above are not a trial: they have no clock and never ask for a card.

What happens to my videos if I cancel, and how do I cancel?

You keep them. Cancelling takes the Pro features off new renders and takes nothing else: every video you already made stays in your library, stays downloadable, and keeps working at the link you shared. Cancel from Settings → Plan, which links to your billing portal when one exists for your subscription.

What Demofy does not do to your site

It does not monitor it, and it does not watch it for changes. A demo is re-shot when you press a button, and re-shot once, automatically, when a capture fails because a recorded element is no longer on the page — that is the whole list. There is no timer anywhere in the product, and nothing runs against your app between those two moments. See The kinds of job for the full list of what actually runs, and when.

Why did my demo fail?

The failed job's page names the cause when it recognises one, and the four most common are named first in When a demo fails: no usable flow was found, a recorded element moved, the demo stops one beat short with no error, or a saved login went stale. Read that page before assuming your app is the problem — three of the four are fixed by rewording the intent line.

My saved login stopped working. Why?

A saved session that goes unused for 30 days is deleted, and a job that names one is checked and refused early if it lands exactly where a logged-out visit would. Reconnect from Settings → Saved sessions and make the demo again — see Recording behind a login.

Can an AI coding agent set Demofy up for me?

Yes, for what there is to set up. Demofy has no MCP server, no SDK and no API key today, so there is no credential for an agent to configure — but it can read the product's own machine-readable brief and walk you through making a demo, installing the PWA, or building the browser extension from source. See Onboard your agent for the one sentence that starts it.

Where do I get help if this page did not answer it?

Every page in the app has a "Contact support" link under Settings → Account, which reaches a human rather than a bot. If a specific demo failed, open its job page first — the diagnosis and the build log are usually the fastest way to answer the question yourself.
