What each one is

Storylane
Storylane builds interactive product demos — screenshot tours on the lower tiers, editable HTML clones of your app on the higher ones — with AI voiceovers and video avatars.
Demofy
Demofy records the real product running in a real browser and publishes that as a narrated video.

What Demofy costs

Pro is US$29 a month, or US$290 a year — 2 months free. It is per workspace rather than per seat, so the fifth person on the team costs what the first one did. Everything below Pro is free, forever — a guest makes a finished 1920 × 1080 video with no account and no card, and it is a file you can download, share and embed. A free render closes on a small “Made with Demofy” card, which is one of the things Pro takes off. The full plan table is on the pricing page.

Where Storylane is the better answer

  • The HTML demo editor is the real product in the category: an editable clone of your app a prospect can click through, with your own copy swapped into it.
  • Personalisation and A/B testing on a demo, and account reveal on the traffic that watches it — a demand-generation surface a video file is not.
  • Salesforce and HubSpot paths built for a sales team that lives in a CRM.
  • Multi-language demos and a whitelabel URL, both on the tier that has them.

Where Demofy is the better answer

  • What is filmed is the live product, not a clone of it, so nothing can be true in the demo and false in the app.
  • A demo is re-shot from the same URL and the same intent when the product changes, and kept as a new version beside the old one.
  • A guest makes a finished, downloadable video with no account, no card and nothing installed.
  • One workspace price, no seat ladder: the fifth person on the team costs the same as the first.

The part that does not flatter us

Storylane’s Starter tier is a genuinely capable product at a price a solo founder can pay, and the free tier publishes a real demo. If an interactive HTML demo is the thing you are buying, nothing in Demofy substitutes for it at any price.

Which to pick

The step from Starter to the HTML editor on Growth is the decision. If you need that editor, Demofy is not a substitute. If what you actually wanted was a demo video that stays current, that step is a large amount of money for a feature you will not open.

Neither table settles it. Paste your own URL and watch what comes back — that takes less time than reading this page did, and it costs nothing.
