Demofy vs Loom
Loom records you talking over your screen and prices per user. Demofy films a web app for you from a URL and prices per workspace. Where each one is the right tool, and what they cost.
What each one is
- Loom
- Loom is a screen recorder for asynchronous work: press record, talk over your screen, and share a link the moment you stop.
- Demofy
- Demofy is not a recorder. There is nothing to install and nothing to press record on — you give it a URL and it produces the video.
What Loom costs
| Plan | Price | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | $0 | Up to 50 members, 25 videos each, 5 minutes per recording, up to 720p |

| Business + AI | $24 per user / mo | Everything in Business plus auto titles, summaries, chapters, filler-word removal and edit-by-transcript. 14-day trial |
| Enterprise | Custom | SSO and SCIM, Salesforce, a 99.95% uptime SLA, dedicated account management |

What Demofy costs
Pro is US$29 a month, or US$290 a year — 2 months free. It is per workspace rather than per seat, so the fifth person on the team costs what the first one did. Everything below Pro is free, forever — a guest makes a finished 1920 × 1080 video with no account and no card, and it is a file you can download, share and embed. A free render closes on a small “Made with Demofy” card, which is one of the things Pro takes off. The full plan table is on the pricing page.
Where Loom is the better answer
- It records anything — a desktop app, a spreadsheet, your face, a meeting — where Demofy only reaches a web app at a URL.
- It is instant. Thirty seconds of thinking out loud is a Loom before Demofy has finished exploring a page.
- Your voice and your face are the point of a Loom, and a synthetic narrator is not a substitute for either.
- It is a communication tool a whole company already uses, with comments, reactions and a library people actually visit.
Where Demofy is the better answer
- The demo is authored from a URL and a sentence, so there is no take to get right and no script to read.
- When the product changes, the demo is shot again from the stored plan instead of being re-recorded — the failure that makes recorded walkthroughs go stale.
- Zooms, a tracked cursor, captions, a transcript and a written guide come out of the pipeline rather than out of an editor.
- One price for the workspace, where Loom is per user — the gap widens with every person you add.
The part that does not flatter us
Loom is cheaper per seat, faster to first video, and better at almost everything a team uses video for. It is only the wrong tool for one job: a polished product demo that has to be remade every time the UI moves.
Which to pick
These are not really competitors. Keep Loom for talking to colleagues; reach for Demofy when the video has to look like marketing and has to survive the next release.
Neither table settles it. Paste your own URL and watch what comes back — that takes less time than reading this page did, and it costs nothing.
