Product demo videos for landing pages

Put a narrated demo of your real product on your landing page, filmed from a URL in a real browser, in desktop and mobile formats, no camera and no editing.

The problem

A visitor decides quickly whether a product is for them, and a screenshot cannot show a workflow. A short video of the product doing its main job answers “what does it actually do?” faster than a paragraph can.

The usual ways to get one each cost something. A screen recording needs a clean take and an edit; an animated explainer shows an illustration instead of the product. Both are out of date after the next redesign.

How Demofy makes it

  • It shows the real product, filmed from your live URL in a real browser, with the camera zooming in on clicks and typing, and a smooth cursor. A free desktop video is 1920 × 1080. What you get back

  • Landscape for the hero, portrait for a phone feed. A mobile capture films your phone layout and delivers a 9:16 video. Desktop and mobile capture

  • Your look, not a template. Choose the backdrop, the frame and the cursor for each video, and set a default look for every new one in the brand kit. The look and the brand kit

  • Embed it or host it. The share snippet is plain HTML, and the file downloads for wherever the rest of your site’s media lives. Sharing and embedding

  • When the product changes, press Refresh to film a new version from the same URL and intent. Nothing is overwritten, so the version on your page keeps playing until you replace it. Version history

Make one

  1. 1

Paste the URL of the screen where the task starts. A signed-in screen needs a saved session first.

  2. 2

Write one line of intent. For this job, for example: Show how a new user turns a spreadsheet into a shareable dashboard

  3. 3

Follow the build log while Demofy plans the steps, films them and renders the video, then change any line in the script editor.

Try it here: paste the URL and one line of intent below. A guest needs no account and no card.

Filming it yourself instead? How to make a product demo video walks through the plan, the recording, the finish and what to do when the product changes.

Where it falls short

  • It is a product walkthrough, not a brand film: no presenter on camera, no stock footage and no animated explainer.
  • A free video ends on a small “Made with Demofy” card. Removing it, and using your own brand colour and narration voice, is part of Pro.
  • It films web products only — what a browser can open. A desktop application or a native mobile app needs a screen recorder.

Questions people ask

Should a landing page have a demo video?

If the product is easier to understand by watching it than by reading about it, yes. Keep the video to the one job the page sells, and place it beside the claim it proves.

Should the video autoplay?

A Demofy embed opens paused and plays when the visitor presses play, with captions a click away in the player. If you want a silent autoplaying loop instead, download the file and host it yourself.

Can I make one for free?

Yes. A guest makes a finished 1920 × 1080 video with no account and no card, and can download, share and embed it.
